The Shovel

What is Shovel Fu?

I get some strange looks sometimes when I tell people my email address or domain name.

I have to spell it for them sometimes.

No matter how strange they think it may be, no one seems to ask, "What the heck is Shovel Fu?" Well, it is what it sounds like. Kung Fu but with a shovel, like it says up there at the top of the page.
Shovel Fu is the ancient art of the sharpened spade, the skill of the shovel in battle.

As far as I can tell it isn't anything real but the idea for the domain name came from a Buffy the Vampire Slayer game I was playing at the time I decided I wanted a new website.

You can actually see at one point about halfway through the video where Faith dusts a few vampires using a shovel as a poleax.

What is Tokyo like? It's like this...

Being in Tokyo feels a little like this (because this is the Tokyo Summerland wave pool):

Bruce Campbell is The Man.

That is all there is to it. I don't really have to say anything else. Bruce Campbell is The Man.

I think if there were some kind of Academy Award for The Plain-Old-Coolest, All-Around-Bestest, Hard-Workingest Actor in Hollywood at Any Given Moment, it would, by default, go to Bruce "Don't Call Me Ash" Campbell. The man makes the Spiderman movies 'that' much better. He made Hercules and Xena mildly interesting. He was the spine and soul of the Evil Dead movies. His books are awesome. His feet probably even smell good.

Well, maybe not that last one.

However his feet smell, he is a very enjoyable actor and he has been in so much enjoyably weird stuff it's
disappointing that he is not currently starring in his own TV series.

But wait!

It seems Bruce will be appearing on TV again soon enough:

It seems he is doing tongue-in-cheek ads for Old Spice aftershave. Bravo, Bruce. Bravo.
